A Frequency Dictionary is the best way to learn English or any language
A frequency dictionary is a collection (list) of words in a particular language that are frequently used in written or spoken language.
A dictionary can be sorted by frequency, alphabetically, by word groups (e.g. the most frequent first thousand words, followed by the second, etc.), feature (Words that occur frequently for most texts) etc. Frequency lists are used for language learning and teaching, creation of new dictionaries, applications of computational linguistics, linguistic typology research, etc.
Frequency information plays a central role in learning a language. Studies show that the 4,000-5,000 most frequent words make up 95 percent of written text and the 1,000 most frequent words make up 85 percent of speech. Although the results were for English only, they provide clear evidence that when frequency is used as a general guide to vocabulary learning, it is possible to acquire a vocabulary that learners can use most of the time. Will serve There are two caveats to bear in mind here. First, counting words is not as straightforward as it seems.
It should never serve as the sole source of information to guide the learner. Frequency information is nevertheless a very good starting point, and one that can quickly produce benefits. So it seems logical to prioritize learning words that you hear and read most often. This is the philosophy behind this series of dictionaries.
“I don’t know this word.” “What does this word mean?” “How is this word used?” These are the most common requests for help from language learners – and legitimate ones.
Not having enough vocabulary, or not knowing the right vocabulary, is often the root cause of miscommunication, inability to read and write well, and many related problems. This basic need is exacerbated by the fact that there are a lot of words to know in any language, but especially in English, which can have over half a million distinct words – and growing rapidly.
To fully communicate in a foreign language, you need to know about 10,000 words, so it is especially important to remember words that occur frequently in spoken and written speech. For example, the English language has about 50,000 words. If you study everything without a frequency dictionary, even after memorizing any 10,000 words, you will understand foreign speech much worse than the same number of words memorized in a frequency dictionary.
I also recommend memorizing whole basic phrases or sentences on the topics you want. This will give you ready-made sentence structures and combinations, which, combined with the knowledge of the frequency dictionary, will allow you to pronounce whole sentences quickly and without hesitation.
Perhaps each of you has noticed that when speaking in a foreign language, people often make many pauses in one sentence, which causes obvious discomfort to your interlocutor. This technique will allow you to speak without hesitation and quickly “problem” sentence construction.

After downloading frequency dictionaries, you will face the main problem – memorizing a large number of new words and lack of free time. Therefore, we have developed a set of software tools and exercises for effective memorization.
We have also developed a completely unique audio player built into the Lingucard mobile application, which allows you to memorize words and phrases at any time, for example, while driving. By marking learned material, you can always only hear new and hard-to-remember words.
Don’t be surprised by the lack of images in our products, which are familiar to most users. The fact is that we are loading a large amount of words and sentences into your device, and if you do this with images, you will need a large amount of memory. However, you can freely add any pictures for your difficult vocabulary and language cards. If you choose a picture for the word itself, it will be especially useful and will definitely make additional neural connections in your brain.
Being able to quickly translate words and sentences in both directions—from foreign to native and vice versa—is incredibly valuable. To facilitate this, it is very important to prioritize memorizing vocabulary cards starting with the mother tongue and then the foreign (and vice versa). In the application menu, you can easily configure the required card settings to support this process.
Don’t forget to check the already studied material, for this you only need to mark the studied cards and will allow you to open the catalog from any mobile device to check the memorization or Monitor your results.
Thus, you can create your own learning materials or download your own frequency dictionaries from text files, save them for free on a cloud server and learn languages with maximum efficiency.
Learning frequency vocabulary with basic sentences is very effective. Memorizing sentences will create ready-made models and bundles of words in your mind, which you can use to communicate without having to think about the bundles of words and the correct construction of sentences, without pauses between words.
In Lingocard applications, you can search frequency dictionaries for any foreign language and learn the most commonly used words first.
