Importance of Language:

·         The importance of language in the life of a man can’t be over-emphasized. We can’t imagine a society without language. Language is the basis of human progress. It is the flesh and blood of human culture. Without language civilization could hardly even have begun and certainly could never have attained its height forms.
·         Language is the means of social control. Human beings cooperate with one another through meaningful noises (spoken words) and scratches (written words). Language is asocial and we are constantly involved in the process of social interaction which it makes possible.
