  1. Sit in groups of four please.
  2. In your groups, look at the 4 pictures of people and decide who each person is.
  3. Decide their name, age, job, nationality, likes and dislikes.
  4. Write down notes about each person. They will be characters in a role play.
  5. You have 10 minutes too do this.

  • Stage 3: Extending Activity
  1. Now, you have to write a conversation between the 4 characters.
  2. Each character must say at least 2 lines each.
  3. You must include some of the phrases from yesterday.
  4. Yes, the spoken phrases we learnt yesterday.
  5. Everyone must write the conversation in their books.
  6. You have 20 minutes.
  7. How many lines must each character say?
  8. Does everyone write it down or just one person?

  • Stage 4: Monitoring
  1. Can I have a look?
  2. How far have you got?
  3. That`s very good; just change the word order here.
  4. What tense should that be in?
  5. Past simple, perfect!
  6. Now you don`t worry about your spelling errors today.
  7. Does anyone else need any help?
  • Stage 5: Finishing Activity
  1. You have got 5 minutes left.

  3. OK time`s up!
  4. Has everyone finished?
  5. How far have you got?
  6. You`ll have to finish it for homework then, OK?
  7. You`ll be performing it as a role-play tomorrow.
  8. Practice your lines for homework.
  • Stage 6: End of the Lesson / Day
  1. 2 minutes to the end of the lesson!
  2. Stop writing! Pens down!
  3. Tidy up and put your chairs back in their place.
  4. When it`s tidy you can leave.
  5. OK, that`s good. Make a line and wait for the bell.
  6. OK, you can leave now.
  7. Well done and see you tomorrow!
